Set up cloud system

Unisphere uses PowerMax Cloud Mobility functionality to enable you to move snapshots off the storage system and on to the cloud.

Prerequisites

See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

To use the Setup Cloud System wizard to set up a cloud system, the cloud system must be in an unconfigured state.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system.
  2. Select System > Cloud.
    The Cloud Mobility Dashboard is displayed.
  3. Click Setup.
    The Setup Cloud System wizard is displayed.
  4. In the Setup Cloud System dialog box, to confirm that you want to configure the cloud system, click OK.
    Unisphere for PowerMax enrolls with the cloud system and initiates storage system registration.
  5. To dismiss the confirmation message, click Close.
  6. On the Interfaces section of the Interfaces and Teams page, for each interface you want to configure, do the following:
    1. Click Configure Interface.
    2. Select an Interface.
    3. Type an IP Address.
    4. Type a Netmask Length.
  7. Optional: On the Teams section of the Interfaces and Teams page, for each team you want to configure, do the following:
    1. Click Configure New Team.
    2. Type an IP Address.
    3. Type a Netmask Length.
    4. Select an Interface.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Routes page, for each team you want to configure, do the following:
    1. Click Configure New Route.
    2. Select an Interface.
    3. Type an Gateway.
    4. Type a Netmask Length.
    5. Type a Destination or accept the default value.
      You can configure only one route to use the default destination.
  10. Click Next.
  11. On the DNS page, click Configure New DNS Server, type the IP Address of the DNS server.
  12. Click Next.
  13. On the Summary page, review the settings that are configured and click Finish.

Next steps

A dialog is displayed indicating that the cloud system setup has successfully completed. The dialog also states that a cloud provider is required to complete the configuration (and for subsequent creation of cloud snapshots) and asks you whether you would like to create a cloud provider.
